Be it nostalgia or an inclination to entertainment, the series of The Legend of Zelda and its entirety have a firm grasp on the consumer. Spanning from the 90’s to present time, The Legend of Zelda is one of Nintendo’s best game in the gaming industry, second to the famed Mario series that popularized and even saved the gaming industry. Though many have varying opinions on which Zelda game is the best, Ocarina of Time (OoT) holds a high regard in my part and revolutionized the definition of gaming. In 1998, Ocarina of Time was released on the Nintendo 64 and established itself as a legend among the gaming community. The many characteristics that caught gamer’s interest are not easily replicated spanning from Ocarina’s lore and memorable story to its gameplay and gaming mechanics. Compared to today’s games, Ocarina of Time excels in the storytelling component needed to capture the audiences’ attention. Particularly, Ocarina of Time’s lore is quite telling of the series, giving an account for the creation of the world of Hyrule and being the precursor to other Legend of Zelda games; establishing its sequels Majora’s Mask, Twilight Princess, and A Link Between Worlds. It also introduces the origin of many other important details that the other Zelda games lack. For example, the origin of the triforce, a mythical item that grants the wish of the one who holds it. Although OoT isn’t the only Zelda game that gives the gamer a very compelling story that gets the user to interact and want to learn the story, it does provide a more rounding account of the story itself.
