Zeitgeist Vs. Verizon Wireless

Zeitgeist is the spirit, attitude, or general outlook of a specific time or period, espas it is reflected in literature and philosophy (Dictionary.com, 2016). Many companies utilize Zeitgeist to give more of an edge to their “happening” products in the moment. One example is Verizon Wireless and how they utilize television commercials to tout their 4G service, ie: more is better. Zeitgeist takes a product that is current in society and boosts it. It sells the fact that you are getting more for your money; because 4G is better than 3G, so you actually get more if you go with this company. What a deal! Another product that we get more of is McDonald’s. If we super-size our meal, we receive more food, more calories, and more weight gain,
