These cray fish were collected from Medway Creek in London, and acclimated to their new environment and temperatures. This experiment was coordinated to determine whether crayfish will show metabolic compensation when acclimated to various temperatures. The findings of this study show that temperature had no effect on crayfish oxygen consumption. The oxygen consumption for both the warm and cold acclimated crayfish was almost the same, despite the opposite direction of the temperature change. My hypothesis was that Brine Shrimp prefer living in extreme conditions with high temperatures and high salinity levels. my prediction was that they would like the glucose solution. The first type of food I tested was (glucose), when I dropped the solution into the water they immediately swam away from the (positive) but after a minute they started to swim towards the (positive) but the most Brine Shrimp I got in the (positive) was 2 at the 2 and 4 minute checks. My group is experimenting on a Daphnia. The purpose of our experiment is to test the Daphnia’s with different liquids and see how heart rate increases,decreases or even kill the Daphnia. The variable in our experiment is changing the water content and seeing what the heart rate.
