How will the layoffs at Zappos effect it’s responsiveness to customers? Zappos is somewhat of a very unconventional business. Not unconventional in its products but in how it markets its employees or potential employees. Their human resources recruiting function is unlike other companies. Its main goal is to have happy employees so that it transfers over to the important part of their business, the customer. Although it seems everything they do is not textbook, their layoffs were very transparent and from most reports employees involved in the layoff were upbeat. By tweeting about the layoffs, the CEO opened up social media to those former employees where job opportunities became available. Zappos prides itself on customer responsiveness
