The mouth of the mask is open and the bottom lip sticks out more than the upper lip. While the most of the mask varies in a green color, the eyes appear to be a simple black on white (or cream). The mask that I made for this class is a play on the transformation masks of the Kwakiutl tribe in the Northwest Cost of North America. The masks of the Kwakiutl tribes would represent an animal and would open up into a mask of a human.
