In terms of numbers of locations YUM! Brands is the largest fast-food operators in the world with over 43,500 stores throughout some 135 countries. While being one of the leading companies in the restaurant business, Yum! Brands still continues to fall to one major corporation, the McDonalds Corporation. More ever, with around 8,000 stores less than YUM! Brands, McDonalds still continues to thrive with more sales. In 2016 YUM! Brands, before splitting off into YUM! China, reported to have earned 6.37 billion dollars in sales and revenue. YUM!, CEO Greg Creed noted that the reason is due to protests over an international court ruling regarding the South China Sea as the chief reason that sales in China suffered. Regardless of where you go you would be almost certain to have the same experience. Mr. Kroc said it himself "It doesn't matter if you're visiting a McDonald's in California or Connecticut, America or Australia - you're going to have a similar experience wherever you are." He went on to open Hamburger University where they systematically taught future franchisees how to run a McDonald's restaurant based on how Mr. Kroc envisioned it himself many years before. For innovation, McDonalds has done so much. They created the drive-thru so that soldiers who couldn’t get out of their vehicle while wearing their fatigues could still order food as well. They saw the opportunity for potential customers and opened a McDonalds near Fort Huachuca in Sierra Vista, Arizona with a drive thru so that all the soldiers could come and buy food at ease. Also, they have continuously made changes to their menu so give you a better more diverse feel for American food. Finally, we have resiliency. As many know McDonalds has been subject to many lawsuits, negativity from the press, and more recently having more issues with Millennial customers. They have managed to overcome many situations but still continue to thrive. The way they do so is by maintaining goodwill. They try to have an impact on people by giving to charities and other being apart of other youth activates. McDonalds Corporation has managed to accomplish many things in their time but with the new innovation of Yum! China, Yum! Brands will hopefully surpass them making them the number one fast food industry around the
