Yspaniola believes that all children in the Dominican Republic should have access to education and full citizenship. They provide Spanish language literacy classes in Batey Libertad to students between the ages of 4 and 15. The students are arranged into six different groups based on age and ability, and this helps students develop literacy skills much quicker than in public schools. In addition to learning Spanish language literacy, Yspaniola focuses on skills such as emotional intelligence, problem solving, and critical thinking. Similar to the DREAM Project, Yspaniola also offers free books to children and encourages them to read more every day.
