Purpose2Play uses twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to attract fans to the videos and to help get views. They will set up online polls on twitter, asking who they want to be interviewed next based off a list of willing athletes. Purpose2Play and Alvarado used advertising to help get the word out about their video with Ashlyn Harris, which is one of their most viewed videos. According to Bill Konvarik (2016), advertising is a form of media that attracts people to their products, and that’s what Purpose2Play and Alvarado did (pg. 217). They found athletes that had a big following and started promoting the video through tweets. They would start tweeting a month or two ahead of when they were releasing the video onto YouTube to attract fans to hype up the attention to the video.
