Living in a small town has enabled me to communicate and connect with others in my community. I have found myself recognizing that even though Delhi is a small town, I can still have ambitious dreams. Although this town does not have a multitude amount of opportunities and resources, I know that I am doing enough to help this town grow. Helping my community will benefit other generations to realize the same idea.
Being part of the Youth to Youth mentor program has allowed me to create new friendships and change the outlook of students. I have mentored at least thirty kids over the past two years. Seeing them grow and change has made my actions meaningful. In addition, this program has let middle school students explore outside of their comfort

My junior year in high school, I became a student mentor in our campus’s peer counseling program. This was an incredibly rewarding experience as I had the opportunity to help freshman students assimilate into our high school dynamic. As a peer mentor, I assisted students with personal problems and mediated issues with teachers in order to maximize their learning experience. I also acted as a role model for my mentees by talking frequently about AP and Honors courses and how to be successful in such programs. I put effort into learning about each individual's interests and goals so that I could expose them to clubs and academic courses that they may appreciate such as the Biomedical Academy or our school’s robotics team.…

As a former foster youth, I have confronted several emotional factors in my life, causing me to rethink the type of person who I am. When I emancipated from my group home, I had no desire to enroll in college or look for any type of occupation, but just to return to my family and visit my old friends. It was not until one person who convinced me to rethink my decisions before it was too late, his name was Esteban Lara, a former worker at my previous group home. I have developed a close attachment toward him, seeing him as a mentor, seeing he was one of the few people I could talk to. He did not want me to throw away my life in the streets, so I could just hangout with a couple of friends and get trouble with the police department.…

At Xavier University we believe in the “All for One and One for All” philosophy; showing that camaraderie and equality among all are still possible. One way Xavier lives up to its support for students is through the one-year long Smooth Transition mentoring program. I served as a smooth transition mentor to three incoming first-year students during the 2016-2017 academic year. In order to ensure that they have a successful first year at Xavier, I informed them about the resources Xavier University provides, including the writing center, mathematics lab, tutoring services, Ohio link, and much more. I also advised them to make good decisions and form relationships with people who would motivate them to succeed.…

Introduction The NAADAC was designed to determine what conduct is and isn’t ethical for today’s addictions counseling professionals. This list of conduct standards is determined by the National Certification Commission and is used when complaints are filed against professionals. The state certification boards and educational institutions also use this list to guide current and future addictions counseling professionals in the certification process. While I am not a certified professional I am aware that I am already exercising, in some form or another, these standards and in this paper I am going to attempt to outline the various ways that I have or am currently exercising the NAADAC Code of Ethics.…

Mentor Program Proposed tasks We will hire a supervisor to run the program in accordance with Trine’s hiring policy. The first step would be to hire the supervisor who would be in charge of the program and most importantly be in charge of the mentors. This is required not only to make sure everything runs smoothly but to act as a bridge between the staff and the mentors and mentees. This position will allow for easier quality control and more efficient responses to fix issues with the program as opposed to having it directly run by the current tutoring staff.…

All of the three counseling sessions will work together to prevent delinquency by understanding what type of counseling session is needed most for each adolescent and this varies for each delinquent; some delinquents will need all three and some may not need to use all three of the counseling sessions. All of these sessions go along with one and another due to their potential risk factors (e.g., a lack of education, anti-social behavior, and mental illness) causes youth more susceptible to become delinquents. The design behind each counseling session is to promote skill-building, discipline, and restructure misleading perceptions. Each counseling session are going…

But, they also usually do not go to the doctor for these issues, either because the issue is too minor, they cannot afford it, or they feel like the doctor cannot really do anything to help. So, these people will often turn to guides and EBooks online to help them find ways to manage their health issues. Just to be clear, we are not talking about writing a guide on how to cure cancer or deal with life threatening injuries; but rather health issues like acne, back pain, neck pain, stuffed noses, etc.…

Jacob is thinking that if neighborhoods and planning is a successful process the city life is not as bad a people think. She thinks in a way that if a system works, don’t ruin it. She is big into thinking that if residents take responsibility of the pros and cons in the city then things can go smoothly with improving and planning new things. I think the perspective was old when Jacobs was writing this because housing projects were still prominent back then and now they are not as big. The housing was built for lower-income people, so when people got jobs and became more successful they moved out and gave the space to people that needed it.…
