Growing up as an athlete, it came with many complication. Always being injured was the number one problem. Maintaining a healthy body was the key to succeed, dealing with any sport. Stretching, warming up, and practicing well was hard as a kid. Just on the go all the time, not worried about an injury, just happy to compete. Youth athletes push themselves because of the inspiration they look up to. Now, knowing that its a lot of competition going on, what prevention are being made? Most athletic trainers sit around and give their athlete ice without providing stem treatment or exercises to get the bones or the muscles moving. Either people should hold back on letting their child compete or their should be more trainers enforced at practice. More preventions and examinations on youth athletes should be required once a week. Coaches and trainers should know by the looks of the athlete if they should just sit out. Athletes will do anything to compete. Trainers and Parents are the only people that can prevent these injuries. Athletes, are allowed to see a trainer when need and they don’t. Take precaution before ending a sports life. Waiting around until it comes down to a injury will be more time consuming. Still performing, and then being injured will take up more time. Just sit out when it pain in the muscle or feel any pain in the bones. “You know your body better.” ( Antoine Saunders) Leaving coaches guessing, still pushing the athlete in practice, and having the athlete compete while hurt; most likely an injury will come into place. Wanting the body healthy before anything, if anything start back from the bottom at the basics will be a better prevention method. Just sitting out will be the best prevention to a aggravated injury. Going to get treatment is not a problems. Once the athlete is still trying to compete and being injured, they will fall behind in training, from always having to take breaks because of the pain. It’s understandable that coaches will push their athlete until the athlete cannot perform anymore. Athlete should think about more of their future than the moment. Being healthy is the main concept. Competitiveness is in all youth athletes. Not every athlete should have to stop playing a sport forever because they didn’t properly care for their body when they should have. Right now, sports will not provide money. Doctors now don’t like to see a perfectly great talented athlete having to stop playing a sport for the rest of their live.
