Youth Group Synthesis Essay

Back in 2013, I joined a youth group called R.O.C.K “Rescuing Our Community with Knowledge”. In R.O.C.K the goals was to get exposure to the world, volunteer, focus on education, tour different colleges, participate in a lot of community events, go to city commissioner meetings, and attend workshops about leadership. When I first joined R.O.C.K, I was very shy and quiet, I didn't know what to expect the first day I joined the mentoring group there were multiple age groups of younger kids and teens. Not to mention a few of my friends from school and my neighborhood were in the group along with me. During my early teen years I use to have lots of Anxiety and anxiety attacks, I constantly use to think about embarrassing moments, get very nervous when being introduced to someone or have to speak in front of a group of people. …show more content…
starts. Due to having anxiety, I was very nervous, my heart beating fast, I was scared that I was going to mess up or freeze up and not be able to share the information. Also at our R.O.C.K ceremony back in summer of 2016 all the members in R.O.C.K was assigned a topic that we could relate to and do research on. The topic I got was “Anxiety” . I was happy that I got anxiety because it was an outlet for me to learn, find solutions that could help me overcome my fears, and know that I’m not alone with having anxiety. After doing research on Anxiety I found out that Everyone feels anxious every now and
