Youth Group Project Analysis

Overall the project went well. I enjoyed and appreciated the opportunity to complete this assignment. The process of interviewing people helped me to better understand friends I thought I already knew and to connect with them further. The process also allowed me to view what students can learn from a youth group but also how youth group teachings can lack. For example, in some situations, students may not be diving deep enough into the word to get a grasp of why values like cheating and lying can be unethical.
I completed five phone interviews and five face-to-face interviews. I also worked on making the conclusions based on the data. I evaluated how we could answer the question: “Are adults helping or hindering adolescent growth.” After

If we had extra time, it would have been a beneficial idea for us to meet just to discuss our conclusion to make them deeper and more concrete. I also would perhaps add a concrete way in which we can see the implications of our conclusions within a youth group. Had we met an extra time, we would have also realized any confusion in the order of who is presenting and quickly fixed that. Nonetheless, we did work hard, all gave up the time to do interviews, to meet together and finish all our work.
Considering all this, we could have improved but we still presented the important parts of our project. Based on the analysis of the whole project, I would give Michael a 97, Maggie a 97 and Pat a 97. I feel we did do a good job on this assignment and that the work was truly split evenly.
As a group, we had a friendly and respectful dynamic and so that helped everything to run smoothly. Also, it helped that we had Pat as our designated leader. We worked efficiently which helped us to focus on the assignment itself. While we could have improved on a few aspects of the information we were presenting, we really did make some deep conclusion. It was interesting, for me at least, as I saw how my mind had changed about Clark’s conclusion to see he was not exaggerating in his claims. I enjoyed the chance to talk to people through this project as well and enjoyed working with Maggie, Michael and

What is your team’s approach to completing the project? This project is difficult for anyone to complete in an online class setting such as this. However, this is not because of any task that is assigned for this project, but because this assignment forces us to learn to effectively communicate with each other to complete a common goal. We began communicating early this week regarding what we need to accomplish in order to complete this project, and we have come to a conclusion.…

When conducting this research, I was able to interview three John Jay students: Peter, Wendy and Jane. I also observed two of the same students, Peter and Wendy. The interviews were conducted during the month of April. I interviewed Peter, Wendy and Jane for forty minutes each during John Jay’s Community Hour, a time period where no classes are in session. I made a list of questions and asked them fifteen interview questions each.…

I feel as if the group project could have been done a lot better I felt as there was more of a focus on getting to know one another rather than focusing on the assessment. Currently I am not as confident on working with individuals that I don’t know so well as I was when we first started as I realized not everyone in the group had the same approach towards the task as I did especially in terms of prioritization despite this I believe I am more confident in showing leadership as Staci and Emily had other commitments I attempted to accommodate for this by contacting them and working out times when they were both free I believe this was a positive thing as normally in group assessments I have a tendency to rely on other people to make decisions like this and it was a positive experience delegating rather than receiving tasks. Overall working with Staci and Emily was fine as I have a more passive personality in group assignments it was a good learning experience for me a study has also shown that working as group positively influences and facilitates an exchange of knowledge(Shaw, Mitchell and Del Fabbro, 2015) this definitely occurred during our group work when it came to elaborating on social determinants I was able to help both Staci and Emily better understand them while Staci assisted me in learning about the stream factors overall I believe we compensated very well for each other’s gaps of knowledge . On the other side of the spectrum our fourth member Louis was difficult to work with as he contacted us the weekend before the assignment was actually ready to present and this caused a lot of stress and panic, after talking to Emily and Staci they definitely felt the same way about the situation with…

Introduction Homelessness statistics in Victoria provided by the ABS Census of Housing and Population in 2011 has indicated a rise of 20.7% since 2006 statistics (Homelessness Australia, 2012). In Melbourne City, a survey conducted in 2014 found a population of 142 rough sleepers, which is an increase of 40% since 2012 (Dow, 2014). Despite the increasing number of homelessness, our government and community have shown minimal efforts in combating this issue. Furthermore, Melbourne community workers have noticed hasher attitudes by the general public towards the homeless (Iaria, 2015). My research proposal therefore asks: What are young people’s preconceived views of homelessness?…

As the senior project comes to an end, I am truly excited about the benefit my influence has had on the community. My senior project was just another step to the legacy that I have implemented in Warren County. Thinking back to freshman year, senior project seemed so boring and far away. I never would have imagined the progress and success I've had with my senior project. My interest has stayed the same but I wouldn't think that I would have County Commissioners and a House of Representative present at my event.…

During and after the group project I got a better understanding of NAVAL and a better understanding of my group. For example, Lexi is the leader of the group and Camille is the worker bee meaning that she is the one to go to for the information about the presentation. There were many high points in the group such as when we completed are power point early and when we researched the information. I had a blast working with them. A low point was when the video couldn’t load and we had to start from scratch again.…

Reflection Paper II Throughout my college experience here in the Carroll School of Management, group work and the ability to work well with others has been emphasized greatly. This makes sense, because in a professional environment, the ability to communicate, listen and contribute within a group leads to success and the achievement of goals. However, none have gone on as long as this project, making it a more realistic example of working on a team. Junior year of college is definitely a crazy time, as we are forced to balance heavy workloads with extracurriculars and recruiting.…
