Youth Cheerleading Camps Essay

Throughout the summer I decided that I wanted to spend most of my time volunteering at youth cheerleading camps. Not only did I get the chance to interact with younger girls and set a good role model, but I also got the chance to work with other girls my age who have talent and loves cheerleading just as much as I do! The two camps I was a part of was the Danny Lansanah Football/Cheerleading Camp and the Packers & Broncos Cheerleading Camp. Both camps were located at John Harris High School for ages 5-14 and were free with food provided. During both camps my job was to focus on the basic skills you need to learn to become a cheerleader and also make up a routine to teach the girls. The Danny Lansanah Football/Cheerleading Camp was a camp that has gone on every year at John Harris High School. This gives young girls a chance to not only meet professionals but also learn from them. Their camp runs for ages 6-17 and has a price for each age group. The cheer camp will help kids learn the basic skills they will need to know for any squad they decide to cheer on. Along with the dance camps will allow kids to learn hip-hop and jazz dances from the Redskin Cheerleaders that they can maybe incorporate into their own school cheerleading performances! Going to a Redskins cheerleading camp will be a great experience for not only the Cougar cheerleaders, but also for our Packers & Broncos. The only thing I would reconsider about the camp is there is fee and within this fee no lunch is provided. Something that I do look forward to next football season is to get together with our youth cheerleaders and going to see a NFL game so that the younger girls will get to see how far cheerleading can take you throughout high school and
