National Honor Society is an organization that recognizes students that have excelled in scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Being a part of National Honor Society is very important to me because it will further strengthen my qualities of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. I also believe National Honor Society will prepare me for college, and live my most productive life. One of the four main pillars of National Honor Society is scholarship. Throughout high school, I have strived to get good grades.…
Please describe a person who you feel is a leader in your life. Be sure to tell us what qualities you feel make this person a great leader. A person in my life that is such an inspiring leader is Judy Sherman; Professor at Pacific University, Softball Coach, Traveler, Dog show competitor, and a sweet person that everyone just enjoys to talk. She is a great leader as the way she engages with people; loving person and very supportive.…
My most significant leadership experience would be when I was in the Girls Varsity Tennis Team. I had been in the tennis team during my highschool years, for 2 years. During that time I learned a lot about being a leader, such as what it means to lead others, and what qualities a leader should have. When I first started playing tennis I started at the position on 2nd doubles, to me I took it as that I was not good enough to play against an opponent by myself on the court. Which was entirely true, because when I began playing I was not any good whatsoever.…
The details of my leadership Manifesto is how I think others see me and how I see myself. My leadership skills will show you what kind of person I am and how I like to get things done. There are great people I have worked with who taught me how to be a leader I am today. 1.…
The most effective of use of my leadership skills occurred when I was a member of marching band. During my band career I was both section and wood wind captain. This role put me in charge of a large amount of the band members and gave me more responsibility than I had previously experienced. There was one particular year when the band had undergone a number of changes. Our music director, band director, professional staff, marching director, and many other authoritative figures we had worked with left and the band took a new path.…
I talked to father about how disciplined the team was compared to how an older grow of kids. He said that disciplining a younger group of kids is a lot different from older kids for the reason of you can push a older kid farther than a younger. He said this because you have to remember the younger kids are just learning the game compared to an older group of kids who have played the game for more years. I asked him for an example of something he would use to discipline the team. He said that the team would only run when the head coach or he were trying to teach or if they start picking on each other but never when they make a mistake.…
John Quincy Adams, the sixth president of the United States, once stated that "if your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader. " Leadership is more than directing a person or group of people; leadership is guiding others and becoming a role model for others in a way that gives inspiration. Honorably, I was given the chance to participate on a Leadership team at Iron Dragon Fitness and Self Defense, the martial arts school which I attended for several years in my hometown. Week after week, I learned ways to improve my leadership skills by participating as an assistant during classes, helping lower belt students to improve their martial art skills. I learned to take action rather than just speak…
If you graduated high school you remember the fast whirlwind of senior year. College applications alone are like a hurricane that won’t give up until it takes everything out of you. They judge you based on grade point average, ACT/SAT scores, and extracurricular activities. Not everyone can have a four point oh grade point average, multiple varsity letters, be president of different organizations, have time for friends and family, and still somehow be a teenager. If you look at a person based solely on their title there aren’t that many leaders.…
Legs fidgeting nervously, heart rate rising, brain thinking of every possibility. This was the situation for me when I was at the most important interview of my life so far. That interview was for my high school football team’s leadership program. When I found out I was accepted, I was ecstatic. I put in a lot of work to be successful and I was proud.…
I have the quality of a leader. Starting around 7th grade I started to learn the importance of community service, and worth ethic. I started to earn many community service hours throughout city events. Now as a high school senior I am well above 160 hours of community service. From basic concessions, to an event as major as Seymour Hamburger Days.…
My choose of experience that I chose was working at a basketball summer youth camp that served children who were between the ages of 7-14. I ultimately decided to choose this experience because it was a sense of returning back to my community and helping those who enjoy engaging in physical activities. It also let me build relationships with children that I will help me in my future professional goals. Also, I think it has helped me prepare for my current job. This experience connects with my professional goals because it allows me to interact with children from different races, ages, and backgrounds.…
Each experience has taught me a new characteristic that applies for becoming a leader in every day experiences. From the smallest details to impacting lessons, I’ve taken a valuable point from my leadership roles especially in the times of High School and the Honors program in Miami Dade…
A normal person might strive to be average, to be the okay for the moment and never truly use their full potential. For a normal person, being in a leadership position can sometimes be too hard, complicated, and stressful if they are not dedicated or prepared. Each of these factors can discourage many people, people who have the potential but not the training or motivation to hold a position of leadership. I, however, believe that I have the potential, the training, and the motivation to do something amazing as the VP of District Four. As I stated, every person has the potential to be a leader, though some stand out more than others.…
I have always considered myself a Lady of leadership. I take careful consideration into the examples I set for those who may look up to me as role models. I hold myself to a higher standard so that my children, my students and anyone I am fortunate enough to cross paths with can view me as a standard to be followed. However, this has not always been the case.…
