After reviewing the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission 's (EEOC) Youth at Work website, I found it to be an outstanding website that would be an excellent training tool for teaching teenagers, older new hires, and managers about employee rights. Interpreting the federal laws that apply to employee rights and management responsibilitys is complicated. For teens, new to the workforce, understanding their rights and duties could be mind-boggling. However, this website explains all of the federal laws and regulations in easy to understand language. Using the website (http://youth.eeoc.gov), would be a significant step in training new associates about employee rights, thereby improving the overall workplace environment. In creating training programs, companies strive to address job requirements, company guidelines, and applicable laws. By including a mandatory review of this website into company training, teenagers and other new hires would have the opportunity to learn about employee rights with facts than hearsay. A short series of questions at the end of the review would reinforce its importance and make it easier for teens to remember the information. In addition, each work would know a source where he or she can return later to find answers. This website is well designed and easy to navigate through …show more content…

Prompting young people to reflect on what their employee rights are, they may gain a much better understanding. Furthermore, most teenagers want to be involved in decision-making.
