The examples given are youthfulness which can be fixed with age, immaturity is fixed by age as well, ignorance can be fixed by teaching, and drunkenness eventually ends when you become sober. Someone might not agree with the part of the quote that says, “immaturity is outgrown... and drunkenness sobered”(Aristophanes). Someone might not agree that immaturity can be outgrown because he might think that some people don’t grow up but stay immature, for example, if a child is spoiled and his parents just let him glide through life relying on them. Someone might not agree with the second because a person says that drunkenness can be sobered, but that doesn't mean that someone will stay that way.
I asked my mom what she thought of the quote. She said, “Even though I have heard sayings similar to this quote many times, I don't agree. I believe that education can rectify stupidity, but this is coming from an educator. How is it any different from “ignorance can be educated”(Aristophanes)?
