Justin since starting his education in the field of social work has played key roles in numerous organizations to which he has been affiliated.
Young People in Recovery is Justin’s newest project and one to which he holds near and dear to his heart. What they do in young people’s recovery is advocate for funding for those struggling with substance abuse and try to put them in a position to successfully maneuver themselves through the recovery process. Young People in Recovery has a broad range of age within their organization, however, due to liability reasons, all members are 18 years or above. It is because of this age demographic that Justin’s message has become so strong. He feels that he can relate to those in the beginning stages of addiction and wanting to get help. It is through his personal story that he feels he has had success in helping many others in their journey to recovery.
The reason that Justin feels they have seen an increase in numbers of new members in
Young People in Recovery is due to one commonality. They focus on building a better foundation in recovery, this means more than just the traditional 12 Step program. New members are given the tools for success through a broad range of training, to include a two hour seminar in which theoretical principles are given along with shared personal experiences. Once introduced to this type of comrade the process of advocating begins, and the attempt to place people in the right places is what follows.
