With the new targeted market selected, Young Digerati, we as a team believe that Belkin can innovate their product line WeMo to reach higher potential and meet the needs of their current and future customer base. The Young Digerati market are individuals that have characteristics of being “tech-savvy, affluent, highly educated, homeowners, wealthy, and between the ages of 35 and 54.”[1] With WeMo’s high range of products that are not limited to the following, Smart Plugs, Light Switches, Light Dimmers, LED Light Bulbs, 2 different Net Cams designated for the night, the options are not limited the Young Digerati.[2]

Power: Power in terms of manifest needs deals with control and bettering the environment.[8] With the current target market striving for constant excellence in their homes, the hope of always having products that illustrate their beliefs are answered by the Belkin WeMo product, Wi-Fi Smart Dimmer. The Smart Dimmer allows for consumers to successfully turn lights to levels they deem proper for the event. Utilitarianism: Utilitarianism is a concept based on achieving the greater good. The consumer tends to want to find information that is obtained from array of different sources to find the better options. This consumer tends to look at the advantages and disadvantages for the future and present.[19] WeMo offers these consumers options such as the Wi-Fi Smart Light Switch due to the array of features. The light switch allows for consumers to weigh the cons and pros. Not only do the pros outweigh the cons, but the purchase proves to be sufficient for the future.
