As we go through our 8th grade year we see that we are not little kids, we don't do stupid things and we make decisions that will affect our future in good and bad ways. I decided to use the song “young and innocent” by Elefante it was written for the St.Elmo's Fire soundtrack that was released in 1985. I wanted to do this song cause it's about going back in time to when you were young and innocent and didn't have worry about anything. In my 8th grade year has had many ups and downs with teachers, other kids and vocab tests. Hopefully e dry thing goes better for next years 8th graders. One of the song lyrics is “And know if you're out there, I'll find you somehow, I want that feeling back again” this song lyric is song several times and displays how much this person wants to relive that time before getting old and having to remember how amazing it was being a kid. This connects to my 8th grade year because I had to take more responsibility like spending more time on homework and studying for tests. I wish sometimes I could just go back to preschool where is was so easy and we never did anything except take naps and eat food. Middle school and high school can get stressful, in this song it says “Let's shut our eyes and pretend that maybe once again we could be young and innocent” Cause when you're in elementary school you don't …show more content…
I believe this song lyric maybe was to sound cool, but I heard it as maybe their was something I regret not doing in those years because the last thing I what is to look back on middle and remember all the things I didn't do with friends or family. Over my middle school years went to Europe 4 times and I got the chance to meet some of my best friends here, so I don't regret a lot but I still can't remember

When children encounter adults, adults are reflections to them bouncing off thoughts and ideas. Constantly trying to figure out whats good or bad right or wrong usually through what adults do or say or there approval towards them. When I was growing up I remember my Dad would always say “ Don't do what I do, do what I say”.…

English composition was never my strong nor favorite because of my knowledge of the grammar and organization in my writing. Taking English 101 is a jump start for me, because last year of high school my teacher focused primarily on English literature. The course has introduced me to rhetorical analysis, and swatching (imitating author argument). Throughout the semester and all of the papers written I can say that it was a good experience to write at a college level and the expectation from college professors is good for future courses that involve writing essays.…

Walking into school my first day as a very confused freshman, I wasn’t sure if I’d find my place in the BIG world of high school. Originally, I had expected my high school experience to be like the movies, but to my surprise, I was sadly mistaken. Upon first glance, High School had seemed like it would be a place where I could make new friends and make new memories because that's what everyone tells you. Furthermore, I had decided to take what I thought was a life skills class like the electives I had previously taken in middle school, but I walked into my FACS Essentials class fifth period and it did not meet my expectations.…

It is not unusual for an artist to treat their songs as if they were pages of a diary, where they can find solace between the lines and confide in them to hold their past experiences. Lukas Graham is no exception. In the song “Mama Said” Graham revisits his childhood, recalling memories that guide him in all that he is accomplishing today. Reveling in the fact that he does the impossible of accomplishing his dreams and not letting life define his happiness and success, he recalls the lessons he is taught and the advice that his parents and friends give him, when growing up poor and ridiculed.…
