I can bet “you’re an officer -now what," is a question the Messengers of Light might have asked themselves, many times. I have to ask myself this question every day. Messengers of Light has only a few days away from the reality of becoming a corps officer so, “Now what? Well, I am happy to say the information given by Mr. Robert Jones and Mr. Bob Jessup at the end of this course was welcome. Mr. Jones and Jessup were very knowledgeable about their jobs in the Risk-Management Department. The subject of Risk-Management and Employment Discrimination is one of the workplace 's giant, every supervisor fear. This may come across in the form of harassment. The federal laws prohibit discrimination and harassment against individuals on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, disability, pregnancy and age. The federal government has set up three different agencies, to combat such a situation. These agencies are the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), New York State Division of Human Rights (NYSDHR), and New York City Commission on Human Rights (NYCCHR). Their agencies are there for the employee and as well for the employer to make sure that they are following the laws and the rights of their employee. In the case of such an issue within the workplace, it is valid for the employer to have good documentation in the event of an employee 's termination, or discrimination claims. It is a good practice for the employer preserved all the evidence pertaining to employee offense and warning. To my understanding, it is good to have knowledge of how these agency 's laws work and to have a reputable legal counsel when such issues
