You Should Be In Honor's Class Analysis

My tenth-grade experience summed up in one word would be “impactful”. It impacted me in a way that my previous school years could never compare to. The past few years in school involved compliments from teachers who believed I had the work ethic and the smarts to be put in an honor’s class. Only for them to never put me in an honor’s class. The phrase “you should be in the honor’s classes” rung repeatedly in my head to the point where it didn’t seem like a compliment anymore, it seemed like a constant jab at the fact that I wasn’t in the honor’s classes. The dread of seeing my friends go to their honor’s class without me in toll surrounded me till it felt like waves viciously crashing into me. I’ve never worked as hard or as passionately on my work as I have done this year, and my new found way of doing my work is what made me grow as a student. As a reader, I was able to advance my way of reading, considering how I read way more into the text and note patterns too. This is probably because you manage to drill into my head the sort of guidelines needed in order for this to happen, such as if an author thinks something is important he’ll repeat it. Due to these lessons, I changed how I wrote my essays since I became even more invested in my writing. And I became a bit more confident in my writing due to my friends who complimented my writing and you who believed in me and in my writing. I’m not saying that my writing is perfect, but it definitely improved. I still have to better my grammar and my ability to develop my ideas even more, but, overall, I’m better at writing than I was in the last few years. And I have to thank you for my improvement. I never saw myself as a good writer until I came into your class and I’ll be eternally grateful for that. You showed me a new and more in-depth way of
