The artist used an very common animal, something that most people will relate to, they have either seen it in person, or at least know of its existence. The picture shows half of the elephant flying away in dust, symbolizing how close to extinction they are, and how much of the earth is polluted. This picture is trying to bring up emotions like anxiety, sadness and stress to the average person, trying to stir up the people’s feeling. Encouraging people to change their actions to help save the earth, and their lifestyles in order to reduce its pollution and increase recycling rates.
