Improved Essays
Have you ever met someone who changed your life? A person who made you believe in yourself, made you want to become a better person than you thought possible? But, when you first met that certain someone your whole perspective of them was different. They had this certain type of vibe that made it seem they weren’t interesting, that they were just a bland person. Well I have and she was the reason why I learned “Never judge a book by its cover” It was my senior year in second period. It was about the third week of school, and this was my “laid back” class. She walked into class late; it was my first time noticing her. She sat down next to me as quietly as possible so she wouldn’t distract the teacher from his lecture. She was wearing a black and grey scarf around her neck, with a black sweater and white t-shirt. We spoke no words to each other the whole class period. She had this vibe that made her seem uninteresting, like those type of people you could easily forget. A few weeks pass by, and every day she would sit next to me. So casually I started talking to her. By this time I knew her name and every time that we talked, she would always keep the conversations short and simple which bothered me but I just let it go. Eventually I asked her for her cell phone number …show more content…
We boarded “The Drop”, got our belts tightened and we were slowly being lifted of the ground. When we finally reached the top, we could see miles ahead. We saw cars going past each other, the people on the ground looked like little ants, but sky looked beautiful. The weather was perfect, no wind nor rain, a perfect day indeed. I looked over to her, she was shaking horribly, and I saw the fear in her eyes. I grabbed hold of her hands and told her everything was going to be alright, that the ride would be over in a matter of seconds. The buzzer sounded, and we were dropped lighting fast. She screamed at the top of her

I approached her and the words seemed to rush out of my mouth like a waterfall. Then, I panicked and walked away without giving her a chance to react. Trampolines, everyone loves them, today was not the case. It was more like a bounce, fly, fall, and cry. Kids normally say bouncing “funness”, I said, bouncing “dumbness”. This day was so horrible and I never ever want it to happen again. Horrible days with trampolines and annoying little and older brothers.…

Have you ever got to enjoy hot and ready breakfast in bed? Well, I have, on the day I got to go to Six Flags which to be exact was February the second, twenty-thirteen. Oh, the smell of apple wood honey bacon with two over-medium eggs with a hash brown intrigued with cheese and onions in the middle is the smell of breakfast at its finest. The morning was also a treat in itself with the view of the marvelous, enchanting sunrise and the bluebonnets that my family and I have planted in our backyard gave the right appearance for the new day. Now, this was a Saturday so there’s no school…

As a wise man once said, “Be slow in choosing a friend, slower in changing.” Of course, this wise man is none other than the legendary Benjamin Franklin, American superstar. What was said way back in the eighteenth century is still relevant today, as are many of Franklin’s aphorisms. I myself have lived a personal example of this striking proverb within my lifetime, and have lived to tell the tale. This time last year I was a lowly freshman.…

My first time at Cedar Point It was June 6th, 2016, the end of my eighth-grade year at TKMS, I woke up, at 5:30, jumped out of bed, got dressed, ate, and yelled at my mom to get in the car, all by 6:20. But of course we weren’t even close to ready, and we didn’t even need to leave until 7:30. So after reluctantly going back inside, to pack a spare pair of clothes, sunscreen, and our tickets (which we almost forgot), we were finally ready to go and it was already 7:40, “MOM!!!” I yelled panicking, “WE’RE GONNA BE LATE!!!” “We’re fine,” my mom said, “now calm down and say goodbye.”…

I went from an exceptional student to one who talks back. Since freshman year Mrs. R had been my favorite teacher, even though I did not have her until I was a junior. She was kind and always there if you needed to take a breather in her class, or simply do whatever you needed to on the computer, if it was your lunch. I've heard students complain about how they did not like her and how annoying she was. However, I couldn't understand why they felt that way about Mrs. R. I never saw her the way they did.…

Ana Perez Cortes Sociology 101 M-W 9 am Breaking Social Norms There are many norms in our society that tells us how to act in a certain situation. We learn about these norms through our families, schools and social media. Norms are “rules and expectations by which a society guides the behavior of its members” (Macionis, 69). For this project, I decided to break the norm of personal space.…

Recently while spending a legally required weekend at my dad’s house, my dad received a text message from my step mom Crystal. The message read she was going to commit suicide! Frantically my dad jumped from his seat and shoved his feet into his boots, not bothering to lace them. On his way out the door he spun around and violently screamed “This is all of your fault!”. His words were piercing, breaking down and weakening the already fragile bond between him and I.…
