You Are the Heroes of My Eyes Heroes have been conceptualized by American comics as someone has the supernatural power and wears some sophisticated costumes when they are saving the world. However, in reality, a hero can be a person who is able to do the little things for their beloved one in daily life. Doing a little thing is in the sense that we can show our love and kindness towards other in this cruel and cold world. Hence, Bob from ‘’After Twenty Years’’ and the father of ‘’Reunion’’ can be named as heroes. The first reason why Bob and the father can be treated as heroes is that the promises between them and his friend and his son were satisfied and we can be told by their punctuality and loyalty. These two characters tried every possibility to fulfil the promises which were made before. As we …show more content…
As the father said that he was terribly sorry twice to his son and put as much effort as he could into purchasing a newspaper to him before getting on a train. We can be told that the father thought it was a pity that he could not bring his son to his club and have a meal together. This is the sad truth of the father but he tries to find a way to compensate for his son and he was brave enough to apologise for not having a good meal with him. Bob demonstrated his patience and Charlie’s father showed his regretfulness towards their hard times, they deserved the name of …show more content…
As far as we can see the echo of sorry from Charlie the son as he stated ‘That was the last time I saw my father’ twice in the story which means he might understand that why there was a contrast of his father speaking impolitely in public but he emphasized that he was sorry to the son in a humble way. And he wished he could be a perfect man like his father
