The independent variable is something that does not depend on that of another (“Independent-variable”). This makes osteoarthritis the independent variable because despite the therapy used and previous patients’ health related quality of life each participant would still suffer from osteoarthritis. The dependent variable is controlled by the value of the independent variable (“Dependent-variable”). The quality of life of the participants can be affected by osteoarthritis. While osteoarthritis is not a life-threatening disease is can affect an individual’s quality of life due to the deterioration of joint cartilage in addition to pain, stiffness, and loss of mobility. I also feel as if this research subject is something that had so much evidence in support of the hypothesis, which is valuable to the scientific community. My family friend who inspired me to dig deeper and dissect the area of research will be happy to see the results of this study. The only thing in question for me is that if this kind of study had so many positive results in support of yoga therapy for osteoarthritis why do more doctors and clinicians not support of having knowledge of the benefits?
