Youth Leadership Shelby County has given me relationships with new people in the organization. With the multiple trips we took, new strangers quickly turned into old friends. We all developed a bond and memories through this group that we will remember for a lifetime. We all keep up with one another on social media, and recognize each other at different events. I learned some of the difficulties the people in our community face and the importance of us helping. I learned how our judicial system works through acting out a mock trial and hearing from successful judges, lawyers, and attorneys. This was beneficial to me in my government class because I was able to recall my experiences, when learning about our judicial system. I learned about our jails and how they work and function, when we had the privilege of touring our county facilities. I learned a lot about the art of culinary, which has helped with my event planning class. I also learned a lot about educational system of our county and the Universities within, which has helped me to plan my next steps. I also was able to learn about the positive and negatives of our county hospital and how it operates. All of these experiences combined together have helped me in class
