The yearly probability of another is 1 in 730,000. Just because of the pst eruptions. Even if it does happen they would be able to detect it and evacuate before it happens.Their statistics say that there is 90,000 years away from eruption.Researchers say “We find that the last time Yellowstone erupted after sitting dormant along time.” Also “ The countdown for an eruption begins when there is evidence of magma moving into the crust.” The contradiction has good evidence as well as the last. That the super volcano in not near eruption. Old Faithful could be connected to the super volcano along with the other geysers. Geysers formation relies on magma. When water from the surface goes down underground and comes into contact with magma it heats the water quickly. It creates steam and boiled water that is sent back up to the surface. Geysers could be the sign that is will erupt but if they slow down it is a sign that it won't for a long time. Prior to this eruption, on March 27 of the same year “a steam explosion and crater opening occurred at the mountain’s peak.” For a few weeks, this steam continued to come out of the crater that was growing on the mountain as well as ash. Then, towards the end of April, people began noticing a bulge on the north side of the mountain that continuously grew larger. By the time the volcano erupted, the “north side of Mount St. Helens bulged out 300 feet and increase[ed] at a rate of five or six feet a day. This was caused by magma rising inside the mountain” which led to Mount St. Helens erupting.…

Most people have heard of Yellowstone National Park but not everyone knows how strange yet spectacular the caldera actually is. Yellowstone is a supervolcano and the park sits on top of a massive crater called a caldera. According to a NOVA documentary, the caldera is large enough to hold the city of LA and the magma chamber encompasses half of the park above it and extends almost 5 miles deep (Adah, 2016). This makes Yellowstone’s magma chamber the largest known on Earth. Since Yellowstone is a supervalcano, an eruption would have a magnitude of 8 on the Volcano Explosively Index.…

If Yellowstone erupted it would be horrible because thousands of people would die, and the thing that it affects is the ash because it will be bad for you to breath that air. Also an other bad thing is that the ash is really heavy and it will the roof of the house will collapse as we saw in the the movie six inches or more of ash will make your roof collapse. Also almost half of million people died in the movie and at the end of the movie the Yellowstone volcano caused an ice age. I think if actually erupted less people would die because in the movie the specialist did not let the people know that it was going to erupt so it absolutely did not give them time to evacuate…

Explosive volcanoes are one of the most dangerous natural occurrences on the planet, but the types of volcanoes that can destroy the world are know as super volcanoes. Super volcanoes are determined by past explosion and this volcano can be located in the United States called Yellow Stone. Their criteria also depend on the volume of an eruption, for a super volcano the eruption must be more than 240 cubic miles of pumas and ash. There had been three super explosions that fit the criteria at Yellow Stone. The dangers of a super explosion from yellow stone would release a pyroclastic flow that would sear the land.…

Summary: Three asteroids have the potential to hit Earth in the next millennia. The first two possibilities are asteroids entitled 2009 FD and RQ36, and could hit Earth in between 2175 and 2199. The asteroid 2009 FD has a one in three-hundred and sixty-five chance of hitting, which doesn’t sound like a big deal, but it it does hit, our descendants will be in trouble. RQ36 has the likliness of hitting Earth by a one in one-thousand and seven-hundred chance, but even though it seems an unlikely amount, this asteroid will pass Earth seventy-eight times between years 2175 and 2199. Nicholas Deleon, who is a writer about science, says, “Something that size hitting the Earth at any sort of speed—and it would smash into the Earth at a remarkable rate of speed—would certainly cause destruction on a wide scale.…

As mentioned at the beginning, hydrothermals features such as hydrothermal vents and geysers are related to the diverging plate tectonics; however, the Yellowstone National Park in Montana and Wyoming rest over a different geothermical structure, a hot spot. The hot spots “are individual spot of upwelling material originated in the asthenosphere or deeper in the mantle with a tendency to remain fixed to migrating plates (Christopherson and Birkeland, 346).” Those hot spots produce heat from endogenics processes that takes water to an extreme ebullition point generating tremendous forces pushing the geysers to erupts. In other words, geysers are the surface expression of underwater volcanic…
