Yellin Memories

Decent Essays
Yellin school is a place to remember. I have learned many things, met new people, played new sports, and had fun classes. When I first came to yellin I was intimidated because it was such a big school with new opportunities. This essay will explain my experience throughout my years here in yellin. The first grade I will talk about is 6th grade. In 6th grade I had pretty good grades, and teachers. I had a big friend group that was full of fun people. This was the year that I first tried out for drama. I was a little nervous to try out at first because I knew not many people make it in 6th grade. Then i found out that I made it and was so excited. Along with drama I also did some out of school activities for the town like softball, and basketball.

The ones I remember most are my summer vacations to Cancun, Mexico, the Florida Keys, Park City in Colorado, and Hawaii.…

This personal narrative is going to be about the first day of Middle School and my experiences as a 6th grader. It is going to go after my emotions and other descriptive details of the first day. I still remember how the seat belt felt tightening across my chest as the car got closer to the Middle School. During that time I knew nothing about being in a big school because the biggest school i've been in was yankee ridge. (Which is really small).…

I’ve been in school for about 11 years, every year is different, but yet the same. Because we are at the same school for years, it’s the same people, same school, and same everyday routine. Some years are better than others, but the overall best year that I’ve experienced is or was, 8th grade. The fun field trips to places, High School acceptance, and it’s the last year of middle school.…

From the start I never really liked school at all. I mean from what I can recall, I would always hide in the slide at PreSchool and tried to stay hidden until my mom came to finally pick me up. That changed when I entered Elementary school and opened up a little to my other classmates. I would actually play and be friends with them and never stray away. There were rough times in my life that I found hard to adjust to.…

In the seventh grade, I faced a large transition in life. The previous year I had experienced middle school for the first time, but I would make that entrance again. I moved from Texas to North Dakota, where seventh grade was the first year of middle school. I took on those same fears and hopes that I had faced before, but in an unfamiliar place where I had no one except for family to give me support. I tried a lot of new things that year, mainly wrestling.…

Literacy Autobiography Reading has always been a subject that I have struggled in and so has many others. Not the understanding part, but the paying attention to whatever is on the page and what is happening part. It has always been something that I need to figure out, and I am still figuring it out to this day. Ever since the first day of kindergarten, I have been terrible at writing, reading, and most anything related to the English subject.…

My first day of middle school was hell, I have always been good at school. My grades have never been bad and neither have my actions and or attendance. Probably from having a mom that is also a teacher. I look at that as a good thing though, watching kids just goof off and not come to school then high school rolled around and it was like I got to look down on them because they did not prepare for bigger and better things. School wasn't bad for me because it was hard, it was bad because i was always shy in school.…

Maquoketa, upon my initial impression when I moved here in 2012, was a small quiet town and although that is something that I now I know it is also so much more.
