Senior year, I became co-editor of the high school yearbook in a time of upheaval. Not only did yearbook no longer have a set class time, but the new yearbook teacher also had no experience with publications. Slowly, the after-school yearbook organization was whittled down to eight regularly contributing members. To meet the deadlines, my co-editor and I took action to reorganize the page assignments and to put in more hours at home. We also began communicating more with other members to ask for their input on pages.…

These memories are very important because I had picked up different experiences working on these variety of school events such as moving props around, working on microphones, adjusting sound, and being a cameraman. What these positions all had in common was the fact that I helmed the task of responsibility and that had soon better developed the type of person that I want to be after I exit Godinez Fundamental High…

So now, Thomas, I am writing back to your letter I received on the day I graduated High School. Unfortunately, the letter was a year too late. In the following six months after I told you goodbye in January, I found happiness in myself and met someone new. I appreciate your letter explaining your actions over the past year and how sorry you are, and I accept your apology. I appreciate you telling me now that you loved me then and still do now, but I’m afraid I no longer love you, and telling me you love me in a letter wont change my mind.…

With this in mind, I have actively spent my high school years working to ensure that my success and achievements are fruits of hard work and perseverance, rather than sheer luck. These past four years, I have dedicated my young mind to absorbing the valuable knowledge that pools before me in my rigorous AP courses. In addition, I also invested a good portion of my time into my school’s band program. Although balancing academics and such a demanding extracurricular activity was difficult, I managed to find the time to also participate in very rewarding organizations such as National Honor Society, among others.…
