On average, people forget 40 percent of what they have learned within the time span of 20 minutes. Throughout the course of just six days the average person would recall just 23 percent of what they have learned. Concluding that if a teacher were to give a 20 minute lecture on the civil war, and then he was to give a test on it, most students would score no higher than a mere 65 percent, even though the information was given to them recently. So then if students cannot even recall a quarter of learnt material within six days, then what would happen if the material had not been refreshed or reviewed within 60 days. Year round schooling provides for a system of education which allows each student to retain learned information, apply it to their lives and provides them with necessary breaks to refresh their minds, allowing them to perform better in school. Year round schooling should be implemented into the public educational system because it gives students constant breaks to relax, and is close enough to anticipate and short enough that students will be able to retain information learnt in school effortlessly. Schooling provided throughout a year not only gives students ample breaks, but allows them to retain information on a higher level, thus improving test scores, This program also provides the option of a double session, facilitating more students, providing an increased academic budget and staff salary, providing better jobs directed at teachers and exceptional education for
