If we don’t change something right now with American schooling our country will be failing in education. Year-round schooling is beneficial and should be used. Year-round schooling has the potential to solve overcrowding in schools. Also the current schooling was designed for a different America in a different century. Lastly year-round schooling cuts down on the “brain drain.” Even though there may be people who disagree with year-round schooling. Year-round schooling has the potential to solve overcrowding. For example, some schools with the year-round schooling utilize something called the “multi-track” system. Essentially what this is, is that a school may have five or so “tracks”. While some tracks are on vacation the others will …show more content…
One reason for this is that three months without using critical thinking kids are losing a good bit of what they learn each year. After every long break, teachers have to take time out of learning to re-teach students what they should already know. I know that when I come back from summer it is hard to remember what i’ve learned, especially in mathematics, and I find myself asking for help quite often in the beginning of the year. Also, according to “Why Year Round School Is A Good Idea” three months in the life of a ten year old is .025% of their life. For a thirty-year old .025% of their life is nine months. How could you expect to not go to work for nine months and come back being able to work as well as you did previously (Why Year Round School Is A Good Idea)? All in all this information shows that year-round schooling is beneficial because it pushes kids away from things like the “brain drain”. While some may argue that year-round schooling in not beneficial because it take time away from family, and it makes it hard to plan vacations (Year Round vs. Traditional Schedules in Public Schools). Although it is more true that year-round schooling gives you more time to plan vacations. For example the breaks are more frequent, so you get more time with families, and it should be easier to plan vacations that way (Morin).
