Year Round Schooling Benefits

Year round schooling can be summarized into one simple word: unjust. If the national school schedule were to change, it will undoubtedly have lasting effects on people’s family and the community. Family vacations, child care, and routine living would be disrupted by year-round educational programs. Federal and local government agencies, individual communities, business, churches, recreational activities, public service-programs, and patterns of operations. No matter what, this will force a huge change to the American lifestyle.

Would the benefits of year-round schooling be worth it? No because it is very boring for the kids. Who wants to go to school all year long? Exactly nobody so i feel like they should just ban all year round schooling.!?

Having the school switch it’s schedule would interfere with holidays as well. When we could keep the same yearly school schedule that we have now and keep things working smoothly with the students along with their family at home. This schooling process may have many perks yet I can agree that it may help academically. Yet, is it still worth going through all the trouble? I really wouldn’t think so.

If we were to ask today’s school kids what they would prefer I would guarantee they would agree with keeping today’s school schedule the same as it is. The very thought of sending children to school year-round makes some parents cringe. They dislike the idea of children attending schools with no summer break. They question the value of a continuous school year interspersed with many breaks. While the schedule is definitely not what the majority of parents grew up with, it’s not nearly as onerous as some people think.

With these reasonings, I strongly disagree that we should have all-year schooling. It’s just much more simple to keep the traditional school year we have today; instead of this change affecting the community and so much more. Thank you for taking the time to read my opinion on the specific

It would be almost impossible to hire a teen for one month out of the summer because most businesses search for long-term employees. Also, parents that rely on that working teenager may struggle to get by if their child attends a year-round school. These are just some of the possible outcomes if schools choose to switch to a year-round agenda. This is unacceptable. Allan G. Osborne Jr., a retired principal of the Snug Harbor Community School in Quincy, Massachusetts, expresses that evidence for year-round schools that show improvement are sparse and many educators are reluctant to experiment with year-round school schedules (Osborne Jr. 28).…

Some people believe that year-round school is better and are thinking about changing their school schedule to year-round. The Benefits Year-Round Schooling Since the beginning of time, teaching and learning has been a detrimental part of what makes us able to innovate and experience the world around us. A form of schooling introduced in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s was a year round school system (Pedersen, "The History of School and Summer Vacation"). This system allowed for more days within the learning period and allotted for students to get more out of their education. Research from all the way back to a hundred years ago has shown that students tend to lose information and their footing during a traditional summer vacation (Fairchild, "Why and how communities should focus on summer learning."). The current system most public schools within the…

School systems have always encountered trouble deciding whether or not to use a year-round education program. There have been studies on the effectiveness on this teaching schedule and most of the results are positive. Other investigations show that teachers themselves enjoy this schedule of learning since it allows them to interact with their students on a more continuous basis, and there is not a gap in curriculum due to summer break. However, students will still have time to rest and relax on the shorter breaks scattered throughout the year. One such study by Ballinger (1987) agrees that “students learn best by a continuous pattern of teaching, practice, reteaching, and more practice, until they finally grasp the concepts being taught”…

When year-round school is between 900 -1000 per which is a lot and will make a lot of teachers and students unmotivated.
