The possibility of year round schools has been a hot debate topic for the last ten years. But, keeping a student's attention for nine straight months is a hard task. It is especially hard when teachers constantly give homework to students. Students get so burnt out by everyday school, that they are more concerned about getting through the year than really learning. Some even take days off of school because it begins to be too much. In year-round school you don’t have to worry about making it through the whole year; you only have to worry about making it through forty-five days. Students are happier with the short term waiting. Since they are happier in school, they are more likely to have higher attendance (Elsberry 1992).
