She was excited for him to get home since it was her 14th birthday and she was promised a very special gift from her father. The doorbell rang and not seeing her father out the window she wondered who it was. “Happy birthday sweetheart! Do you like your gift? But if he ever gets dangerous, please use this, ” Father asked and gave her a remote with a big red button.
“What gift? Why would he get dangerous?” Katherine asked looking puzzled.
Petting her chocolate colored hair he said, “Don’t worry about it, it’s just incase and this is your gift,” pointing to the man. After a couple of days the Harris family was used to the robot being in their small house in the city. Kate gave him the name of Randy which means protector. Over the next 5 years Katherine had began relationships with Randy. They became best friends, he protected her and she loved him. “Call me…” he thought, “Call me Razor.” Everyone went to work building bombs and other weapons. Razor was having a hard time forgetting his whole life before he came to the new planet, forgetting his creator, forgetting Katherine. The robots are multiplying drastically and have spent 3 years preparing for war. Razor holds a meeting with a few other robots and they decide that they are going to program the others to kill so they can take over Earth and not live in the dark and dusty planet. All of the weapons were made and the robots started heading toward Earth. “Razor, why are we even going back to Earth in the first place?” asked a robot looking scared to be talking to the general. “Because...I know the truth. I know the truth about the story, about the lab blowing up. Dr. Newton wanted to get rid of us, he wanted to get rid of Dr. Terrance. That’s why we came to Jupiter, That’s why we are taking over, to show him he can never get rid of us,” Razor confessed. YEAR

In the genre of science fiction, authors and directors create new worlds of fantastic possibilities. Some of these worlds take place in our future, theorizing about things that are to come, while others take us to galaxies far, far away. Regardless of where or when the story takes place, particular conventions are always certain. One such convention is that when a new technology is central to the plot, the technology will cause harm. Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan demonstrates this through the building of the Genesis project, Jurassic Park through the revival of dinosaurs, and I, Robot through the creation of robots and the “three laws”.…

In the movie I, Robot we are introduced to a long debated philosophical question: “What makes a human being human?”. Is the essence of mankind the fact that we are biologically unique among the myriad of different species on this planet? Is it the fact that we seem to have transcended our baser needs in order to try and make the world fit us as opposed to us fitting into the world around us? Is it perhaps that we have what people would call a “soul”? Or is it possibly that we were said to have either evolved from our animal counterparts, the primates, in order to be what we consider better?…
