" A girl beat you! I can 't believe it 's a GIRL." One of the many phrases yelled out across the field. Was I no competition? Was I not supposed to show you my skills to prove I can ball? Does that mean when a girl finally does something out of the norm to prove a point such as also being an athlete in a "man playing sport." My actions are not supposed to let others think they 're anything less than what they are. Girls train harder than boys, they like to prove their point and compete with boys. Later on, young girls were asked the same question where they gave it their all to demonstrate how a girl runs, throws and fights. Concluding, the advertisement asked "what does it mean to you when I say run like a girl?" to the young girls where they responded, " It means run as fast as you can." The message this commercial displayed was such an important and real issue. Mainly because I know it feels to be told, " You hit like a girl " "You run like a girl" "You are such a girl." Should "like a girl" be taken as an insult or a compliment? Cause I am a girl trying to do many things out of my reach.
