It was started by Uday Chopra, in November 2011. It was a Hollywood-based financing and production company which was focused on producing feature films for the US and other international marketplace. The company was launched and was also funded by Yash Raj Films.
YRF Entertainment is financing and producing "The Longest Week”, which was written by Peter Glanz,. Uday Chopra in YRF Entertainment is also producing with Neda Armian. YRF Entertainment is also building projects that can be actively developed and produced from the ground stage.
Yash Raj Music:
YRF is also into business of music. It has own music label called YRF MUSIC. It was started with its own feature films like 'Hum Tum' & 'Dhoom', which were available in the cassettes and CDs of these films and were also distributed to overseas

YRF catalogue became popular because of the growing popularity of home viewing of films by DVDs and VCDs. DVDs of YRF were released all over the world by the UK, USA and UAE offices. 'YRF Home Entertainment' through major stores all across India has also launched DVD titles for the Indian market. YRF also has acquired over many titles of Indian films. These movies were released under the name of ‘Forever Classics’ series.
YRF Home Entertainment has launched some unique song compilation DVDs covering a range of genres across the evergreen classics. This label has also acquired films from the outside banners and released them on DVD formats. It has also released Collectors DVD Set Boxes and DVD sets which were available under attractive packaging and also under innovative titles such as The Legend - Yash Chopra etc.
Making of film and the people behind the movie are shot and were added as additional content which acted as the hall mark of DVDs which were released by YRF Home Video.
