Yaqui Delgado Character Analysis

The main conflict in the book Yaqui Delgado exists between the characters Piddy and Yaqui. In the beginning 0f the book, the conflict arose because Yaqui’s boyfriend was flirting with Piddy. Yaqui felt threatened by that. As a result, Yaqui stole Piddy’s necklace, threw milk at Piddy, and called her many bad names. The conflict is important because its what makes the story interesting. Piddy’s attendance and grades in school suffered as she tried to cope with this while fitting in to a new school. The conflict was not easy to resolve because there was already too much bad blood between the two. Plus, I don’t think Yaqui is one to easily forgive. In fact, Yaqui’s friends pressured Piddy to fight back. In the end, two adults at the school
