The plot of the movie starts by Pi making a meal for himself and the narrator in his kitchen of his house talking about the story.he explains to the narrator how he got his name and why he changed it to Pi. Pi explains how he met Christ in the mountains when he was bored. Pi gets caught trying to feed Richard Parker as a young boy. Pi sees anavi during her dance class and falls in love. Pi's father sells the zoo and takes him and his family on a freighter heading to Canada. The freighter ran into a very very big storm as it was directly above the Mariana Trench and Pi got separated from his family. The freighter sank taking the rest of Pi's family with it and

The hyena kills the zebra. The hyena kills the orangutan and the tiger leaps out from under the tarp on the life boat to kill the hyena immediately after it killed the orangutan. The tiger began to go after Pi so he hopped onto his personal raft he made from survival supplies. Pi writes a message to send help and it explains the situation he's in. Pi begins praying to
God to show him the way. Pi attempts to train Richard Parker the tiger but fails miserably. Richard Parker jumps out of the boat in search of food but can't get any so gets stuck outside of the boat for a very long time and finally gets helped back in by Pi. Late at night Pi was playing in the bioluminescent water when a huge whale surfaces knocking him off his raft and throwing most of his supplies off as well. Pi trained Richard Parker and they are now both on the boat. Pi sees dolphins then sees a ship in the distance and tries to get its attention but fails. Pi begins having visions and writes in his journal that he's losing reality. A large storm appears and Pi believes he has seen the lord, during the storm Pi loses all his supplies and the storm leaves him and Richard Parker very worn

    In the adapted film Life of Pi directed by Ang Lee and written by Yann Martel, the book is clearly better than the movie. This is almost always the case with book to film adaptations. The story takes place for the most part on a life boat in the Pacific Ocean with a young boy named Piscine Molitor Patel, also known as “Pi” and a Bengal tiger named Richard Parker.
