Yankee Candle is the best loved and largest candle company in the world. This famous candle brand earned its reputation in high quality and fine fragrance candles making for over 40 years. It all took place on Christmas in 1969, when sixteen-year-old Mike Kittredge did not have enough money to buy his mom a Christmas present, so used some old red crayons, canning wax, kitchen string, and a milk carton to make his mom a candle (“The Yankee Candle Story”).
