A leader must also know when to withdraw himself from the ongoing decision making process including situations involving a conflict of interest or situations where it is necessary that the followers need to make the decisions amongst themselves. A leader’s ability to correctly withdraw from situations at the right moment is a very important indicator of the leader’s self-control abilities, which enables the leader to behave more rationally and work towards the greater good rather than merely focusing on his own welfare. A leader’s ability of executing a timely withdrawal also enables him to be able to devote more time towards reflecting on the impact of his decision even before making the final decision. Another very important aspect of the Tao aspect of leadership is to enable the leader to withdraw from his chores in order to empty his mind and replenish his energy, so as to be able to give better focus on his next chore, rather than stay worried about his last chore. A leader must be a balanced combination of the three aspects of leadership – the warrior, the healer and the Tao. A leader who is a combination of these three elements is considered to be a productive and potent leader. The combination of doing and being is extremely necessary for running a successful organization. Balance is visible in the manner in which a leader lives his life and handles his business and other people. If any one of the two, business or people, is out of order, nothing seems to work
