Cool Korn As I sat down with one of the coaches, who is the defensive backs coach on the Tennessee State University (TSU) football staff, I noticed how Coach Korn reminded me of myself. My interviewee was Coach Korn, since I play offensive line, he is not one of my coaches. Coach Korn and I have had our occasional hi and bye’s, but until this interview I knew not much of him. I noticed a few things, one being that he has been interviewed before because when we sat down he showed no signs of nervousness, second is that he kept his hood on throughout the entire interview, and third was that Coach Korn did not speak with a loud voice but at the same time I understood his…

Music has played a gigantic role in defining who I am. When I was little I was always involved in music. Even if it was not me making the music, I was always bopping my head along or tapping my foot to the beat of the music. My parents were surprised to find out that I was the child that was fascinated by the marching band walking in the parade. I knew by a young age that I wanted to be in that band.…

The screeching of my violin echoed off the wall as I struggled to play Mendelssohn's concerto in E minor. The double stops that were meant to flow in harmony came out in a jumbled mass of notes indistinguishable from the shriek of a dying cow. I whimpered as these terrible sounds emitted out of my violin, and threw my violin down in defeat. I slowly tilted my head towards the clock, a terrifying reminder that my addition was only 10 min away. I gathered up my music, and ambled away from the empty practice room to where my judge would listen to my audition.…

When I was walking through the freshmen halls, I thought that I was ready for all the stuff that going to happen throughout the four years of hell. Well to start out, I was attending band camp over the summer and we were working on our band show so school already started for me since July, two months before school actually started. Band camp was not difficult, but sweaty and just exhausting during the early morning hours. We would then have an hour of lunch, after that we separate the sections and had section meeting where we study the music and play it and also to discuss things about band.…

The most important thing about me is -- I am producing this Rap Bible to reach a younger generation who probably would never pick up a Bible. I am not doing this for money, even though it will cost money to purchase because it cost money to make. I am not doing this to make my name great, even though my name may be promoted. I am doing this to express my artistic passion to reach a different audience. I believe this will be a one of a kind project and I am already looking forward to a remix version of it with multiple artists.…

Back in junior high school, I fell so much in love with hip hop music, which was frequently played on our local radio that I got inspired and began to form my own melodies and rhymes. With my new found love in hip-hop, I used to have a notebook, where I wrote down lyrics of popular hip-hop songs I listened to. I involved myself into various talent shows where I performed original music. With my growing interest and the favorable response I received from performing the original melodies and rhymes I wrote, I took it upon myself to pursue music as a career. Thus, I kept on writing songs with every little chance I got.…

As a child growing up with a mother who loves 80’s pop music, I remember sitting in the back of the car dreading the songs, I was about five years old and I didn’t understand why I did not like everybody have fun tonight, and other cheesy songs from that time period, the only ones I did care for where Phil Collins, Journey, and Bryan Adams. I enjoyed music that had a rock theme behind it, I loved guitar solos and now as an adult, I appreciate high notes coming from the lead singer of Journey. My mom pointed out as a child she knew I would be into rock music just by the way I would get excited if I saw it on tv, and when I was 14 she took me to my first rock concert which was Green Day, she thought she was going to hate the whole show, but…
