There are two kinds of Yale University scholarships. Students who intend to apply for scholarships to help fund their Yale education should know about the differences and requirements of the two kinds of scholarships.
Yale Scholarship - Yale Scholarship is need-based grant aid for undergraduates, and it never has to be repaid. The amount of Yale Scholarship varies from a few hundred dollars to more than 50,000 dollars per year.
Merit-based scholarships - Yale does not award merit-based scholarships, but it encourages its students to pursue merit awards from outside organizations to reduce student effort amount. The merit-based awards are provided by some companies and nonprofit organizations.
