It is my observation that the path of Christian-Jewish has been neither consistent nor uniform. Relations have changed and evolved, varying by era and area. Different Christians and Jews have expressed different opinions and taken different actions. At the same, one can discern some salient features that have characterized the relations over long centuries. The relationship remained intensive and complex, often helped shape Christian and Jewish identities and self-perceptions. Among other things, Jewish thinkers have come to reconsider Jesus Christ, often attempting to reclaim him as a reformer of Judaism whose teaching should be appreciated.
Likewise, a practical application of the diversity in the context of ministry is faith. Faith is having complete trust in God’s word. Paul writes,
For Moses writes that the man who practices the righteousness which is based on law shall live by that righteousness which is based on law shall live by that righteousness. But the righteousness based of faith speaks as follows: “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascended into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down), or ‘Who will descend into the Abyss?’ (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).” But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”-that is the word of faith which we are preaching, (Rom. 10:5-8,
