The Carolina Mudcats are a minor league baseball team that was founded in 1991. They were once called the Columbus Mudcats that was a part of the Southern League before they then moved to North Carolina. The third athletic program and director that would be a good interview is a high school that is located in a rural setting. An athletic director who can build and maintain successful sporting programs in a setting with limited resources and a small pool of student-athletes to work with can be a valuable resource to glean strategy, motivation, and work ethic. A high school in a rural setting presents students who come from families in a lower socioeconomic class and many whom may have to work on farms before and after school while maintain their grades and training for the sports they participate in. Observation: The YMCA daycare program is very different from Hope. I went back and forth between the two classrooms with children from ages 2 to 4 and I even spent a bit of time in the infant room. I learned more about the different temperaments of the children and how to address them. In addition, I also saw how children three to four years of age did not know how to say what they wanted so they would hit and throw things. I would have to say the biggest thing that I learned today was figuring how to get a positive behavior and not to reinforce a negative behavior.…
With this role I was in charge of keeping the students hype and into the games, coming up with themes for the students to have fun with, and help come up with and lead the pep rallies. A special duty of an athletic trainer is to provide athletic training services to patients and athletes as required, patient and community education in the areas of sports injury prevention and care.
