YMCA in the Community Living in a very small community is something that most people do not understand or have the knowledge of. Growing up, I was always into sports, specifically soccer. It turned out in my luck that I lived in a huge soccer town that benefited me greatly. But, how about all of the other sports? There are so many different sports that are not offered in a small town rather than a big one. These sports are all offered in big communities like Omaha and Lincoln. People of our community have to drive 30 minutes-hour just to drive to volleyball, softball, basketball, swim team practice. This prevents parents from getting their kids involved. There should not be kids punished for wanting to get involved in an activity or team.

The reason for it to be built was a response to unhealthy social conditions arising in big cities. To this day, the YMCA serves more than 45 million people in 119 countries. In order to even think about building a Y, they have to hire approximately 25-40 influential community and business leaders. They must have connections to major potential donors that will help to finance most of the costs. Some people are reluctant to give to an organization in financial trouble. So it is necessary to provide great influential evidence to persuade them that it’s a good idea and a need to our community. Also, the YMCA has to plan a balanced budget for at least the last three years. There does not need to be a specific minimum of people in a community to be able to conduct. Once it is a deal, one must decide where it would be built. It would be build so that it is easy for the people to access it from any location. The best location would be somewhere where there is enough space and very safe for all people. For example, somewhere around the Gretna Sports Complex. This allows somewhat of a even drive for everyone to be able to come and join. The requirements to join are $15 a month for kids and teens, $42 for adults, $37 for seniors, and $70 for the whole family. This is because of lack of getting involved and being taught a healthy lifestyle. The Y provides necessary needs to start getting a better health, ranging from children to adults. Their main focus is to make sure that everyone starts to live a healthy life and enjoy it at the same time.
