The “Y” Scar

It all started January of 2008, when I had to get stitches in the bottom of my right foot.

At the time, I was six years old in kindergarten and it was the week of winter break. I was with my dad and my three siblings Brianna, Andrew and Garett. We all were at his girlfriend Suzie’s house. We wanted to know what was inside but we couldn’t because it was frozen shut. So, us three girls all decided to bring the purse inside to let it thaw out so we could see what was inside of it. I landed on one of Andrew’s little army dude’s. Half of the army dude was stuck in the center of my foot. Maggie ran upstairs to get my dad. My dad response was, “Come up here so I can see”. He refused to come down stairs to help me get up. So my only other option was to crawl up the carpeted stairs, leaving a blood trail all the way to the kitchen. Once he finally noticed that I was bleeding, he got up from the couch. He came into the kitchen, grabbed a roll of paper towel, and began wrapping my foot. He said to me “You will be fine,” and he walked back into the living room to finish watching tv. When Suzie noticed my foot was still bleeding through the paper towel. She took off the bloody towel and looked at my foot. After examining the situation, she took clean paper towel and
