Xzander Shoemaker: A Short Story

Decent Essays
It happened in 5th grade. There was a boy named Xzander Shoemaker. People bullied him from time to time. He was quite annoying. I think that´s why he always got bullied. I even myself bullied him a bit. He has moved to another school, I believe. Just to make this longer, I´ll make a paragraph or two in my Point of Vision (POV). I might exaggerate some things, sorry..

¨Lauren! Lauren! Lauren! Lauren!¨ the shrill voice of Xzander was heard by me. ¨What, Xzander? I´m TRYING to do my work, here!¨ I said, in an angered tone. ¨Lauren, wanna talk about Minecraft mods? Or Minecraft cheats?? Ooh, how about the buildings I have built!??!?!?!¨ ¨Xzander, you need to do your work… I´m trying to do mine, too..¨ I replied, cooling down a little from before.¨But i´m done alreadyyyyy!!!! Lets just talk to eachother!!¨ He whined. ¨Ugh…. Why do I sit next to you...¨ I whispered amongst myself. ¨What was that???? You want to talk to me? YAY!!!!!¨

Incident #1: Weapon on School Grounds In the 6th grade, when I was 12 years old, I made the stupid decision of bringing a knife to school. No one knew what I had planned. On the school bus on the way to school, I showed a young lady I went to school and church with the knife, she was in 8th grade. 20 minutes into my first period a dean came and got and it wasn’t until I was in the resource officer’s office that I realized that the person I showed the knife to had told on me.…

Is school a safe and secure place for every child? Lynda Barry, author of “The Sanctuary of School” believed that school was a diversion from the realities in her life. It was a place where she could truly be herself, a place where she felt she was wanted. Although, school can be a safe haven for some children, it can also be a nightmare for others. While interpreting Barry’s needs for children to be able to attend school, the question to inquire is if public school is the ideal environment for every child.…

“You won’t amount to anything…you’re too small…you can compete with us”. For my whole life I have been hearing those words from my peers to adults, coaches and the list goes on. During my school career it was a breeze until I got to middle school. Once I hit the sixth grade the name calling and constant judging from the seventh and eighth graders started. However, what really struck me with disbelief was how my “friends” started to treat me, as if joining in on the banter was “cool” and did it to fit in with the older/cooler kids.…
