Organisational Learning Approach
Organisational learning “describes attempts by organisations to become learning organisations by promoting learning in a conscious, systematic and synergistic fashion that involves everyone in the organisation” (Burnes, 2009, p. 146).
Senge developed 5 interrelated disciplines that organisations require to encourage and stimulate learning and success. The 5 disciplines are listed below (Burnes, 2009, p. 148):


Personal mastery – individual growth and learning.



Mental models – deeply ingrained assumptions that affect the way individuals think about people, situations and organisations.



Shared visions – the development of a common view of the organisation’s future.
