In the early career stage in Xerox, Clendenin’s business objective was to exploit the business opportunities. After he was convinced that MDC was an opportunity, his business objective was to increase MDC’s size and to contribute to the corporate goal of increasing the company’s return on assets (ROA).

Xerox is a giant corporation, like most of other large multinational company in the world, have some problem in distribution of over-packaging , resource wasting in logistics, while Clendenin, a undergraduate from Harvard business school, show his big enthusiasm to do something helpful, he quickly find that he could help company to save 2M a year to modify their logistics process by set up MDC, and also, MDC can do more than that, so he want adjust the MDC from providing computer systems support to coordinating the Xerox’s worldwide logistics and inventory management, that should saving 100m per year to Xerox corporation.
