Meet Katie Price, a seventeen year old girl with Xeroderma Pigmentosum...but that disease is NOT her identity. She is so much more than that. She is a teenage girl that also has friends and crushes, like most teen girls do. Her best friend is Morgan and Charlie is the boy that Katie has a crush on. Although because of her disease, throughout the day she has to stay inside with special ultraviolet light filtering windows, to see the world through. Her nights are a lot more fun. Since she can go out at night, she catches up on all the adventures hse couldn’t embark on throughout the day time. Katie also has a single parent, her dad. When she was little her mom died. She ended up only having skin damage and nothing worse than that. One day, Charlie and Katie were at her house and they were sitting on the couch laughing. Charlie said that he had to go down to the harbor, to see the boat he is taking care of for the summer. Out of the blue, when he was getting ready to walk out of the door, Katie rushed to him and said she wanted to come. At first Katie’s dad said no. Then he saw the look in her eyes. He realized she really wanted to go. Katie begged him and he finally gave in. Morgan, Jack (Katie’s dad), and Charlie took Katie to the harbor. Katie and Charlie got on the boat and Katie took of her jacket. She finally felt the sunlight on her skin. Charlie came up behind her and held her. Kate said “I have been waiting for this my whole life.” Katie ends up getting to much sun exposure that ended up being fatal. When she died Charlie, Morgan,and Jack went down to the beach and poured her ashes in it. On the way home Charlie was driving and he decided to listen to the radio. When he turned it on he paused for a second and listened to the song. It was Katie’s song ! It was on the radio. Her music dream had finally come
